Overcoats

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – New York-based female folk-rock duo Overcoats brings its captivating, intimate harmonies and subtle, electronic soundscapes to Club Helsinki Hudson on Friday, January 27, at 9pm.

Described as a cross between Chet Faker and Simon & Garfunkel, the duo’s voices glide over shivering chords and minimal electronics. Their songs alternately surge with dance-floor energy and unfold in gentle, soulful waves.

Overcoats is Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell. More than just a band, Overcoats is a friendship, an artistic duo whose songwriting is musical empathy that verges on telepathy. They approach music-making with both freedom and focus, but the strength of their connection, in both voice and as artists, is what makes Overcoats so distinct.
