Brandi Carlile

(June 4, 2021) – With the cap on attendance at Tanglewood this summer now doubled to 9,000, the stage door has opened for concerts by alternative country artist Brandi Carlile (8/21, 7pm), soul-gospel icon Mavis Staples (8/21, 7pm), and legendary folksinger Judy Collins (8/22, 2:30pm). Concerts by James Taylor and Ringo Starr have been postponed until summer 2022.

Concerts by Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio and R&B artist John Legend, originally scheduled for summer 2020, have been cancelled.

Highly venerated British singer-songwriter Richard Thompson and Jesse Colin Young, the lead singer of 1960s group the Youngbloods, will warm up the crowd for Collins. Mavis Staples will do the same for Brandi Carlile.

The NPR game show Wait Wait … Don’t Tell Me! will take place as originally scheduled on August 26, at 8 p.m.

Tickets to Tanglewood’s Popular Artists Series concerts go on sale at Tanglewood’s website on Monday, June 21, at 10am.
