(WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.) – The Barra MacNeils kick off the annual Williamstown Holiday Walk Weekend with a concert at The Clark on Friday, December 2, 2011, at 8 pm. The Cape Breton-based family group will be performing original songs as well as vocal and instrumental standards.
Hailing from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, the award-winning family group is deeply rooted in Celtic music, culture, dance, language, and history. They bring to the stage multiple lead vocalists and beautiful harmonies on a variety of acoustic, stringed, percussion, and wind instruments, combined with dancing and storytelling.
The Barra MacNeils have celebrated nearly 25 years in a recording and touring career that has taken them to stages throughout the United States and Canada, Ireland, Scotland, the Caribbean, and Europe. They have released 14 recordings, including two Christmas albums, and their holiday concert tours are regularly sold out. Every year, these special shows are part of PBS television offerings.
Tickets are $31 ($28 members and students). Tickets may be purchased online at The Clark or by calling 413.458.0524.
