(GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.) – Modern bluesman Keb’ Mo’, reggae legends Toots and the Maytals, and Motown stars the Temptations are among newly announced acts that will be appearing at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center this fall.
Three-time Grammy Award-winner Keb’ Mo’, the stage name of Kevin Moore, will be performing his brand of modern blues on Thursday, October 18, at 7:30 pm.
Toots and the Maytals, one of the original reggae groups from Jamaica, will be bringing their 50th anniversary “acoustic tour” to Great Barrington on Sunday, November 4 at 7p.m. Founder Toots Hibbert is often credited with coining the term reggae, based on his hit, “Do the Reggay.” The group’s other hits including “Pressure Drop” and “Monkey Man.”
The group currently calling itself The Temptations, featuring Otis Williams, the sole surviving founding member of the legendary Motown vocal ensemble responsible for such all-time soul hits as “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “Get Ready” and “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone,” will perform at the Mahaiwe on Sunday, December 2 at 7 p.m.
