(NEW MARLBOROUGH, Mass.) – The Apollo Trio will play piano trios by Mozart, Rachmaninoff and Schubert at New Marlborough’s historic Meeting House on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 4:30 p.m., as part of the Music and More series. A reception follows the concert in the Meeting House Art Gallery.
The trio, comprised of violinist Curtis Macomber, cellist Michael Kannen, and pianist Marija Stroke, will perform Mozart’s Trio in G Major, K. 564; Rachmaninoff’s youthful Trio Élégiaque #1 in G Minor; and Schubert’s Trio in E flat Major, Opus 100.
Formed in 1997, the Apollo Trio has performed to high acclaim in the U.S. and Europe with frequent appearances at American music festivals, from the Mostly Mozart Festival in New York to Chamber Music Northwest in Portland, Oregon and other chamber music venues through the country. The trio has performed at such prominent New York venues as Caramoor, Bargemusic, Avery Fisher Hall, Weill Hall at Carnegie and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, among others.

Music and More, founded and directed by Harold Lewin and sponsored by the New Marlborough Village Association, is marking its 22nd year as a late-summer destination for world-class chamber music, jazz, theatrical and literary events in historic New Marlborough.
