Aimee Norwich Bringing Folk-Electronica to Spotty Dog

Aimee Norwich (HUDSON, N.Y.) – Folk-electronica artist Aimee Norwich brings her unique mix of sounds to Spotty Dog Books & Ale on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 8pm. Norwich recently completed her fall tour with drummer Ian Cook, in support of her new record release, Forward to Nowhere. Norwich played her hybrid bass and electronics, with Cook on drums and electronics, and they toured through the Northeastern United States, in Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New York, and Connecticut. The duo continues to play local and regional shows.

Norwich performs as a soloist using various basses with electronics; some of the instruments and devices are of her own design. She collaborates in music and/or film projects as a music producer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and recording engineer.

Ian Cook is a drummer and electronics musician who has played with numerous indie acts in N.Y. and Chicago. He has been integrating samplers, drum machines, midi devices and software instruments into his jazz and rock drumming for many years. He has worked (sometimes as a drummer, sometimes as an electronic percussionist, or both) with Dave Douglas, Travis Sullivan, Rachel Z, Soft Machine, Lucia Micarelli, Dave Eggar, and Dads Yakuza.
