SWEAR AND SHAKE BRINGS INDIE-FOLK to HELSINKI HUDSON
(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Brooklyn-based neo-folk outfit Swear and Shake brings its hard-charging indie-folk to Club Helsinki Hudson on Sunday, January 19, at 8pm. The band may remind some listeners of 10,000 Maniacs, another folk-rock group with roots in upstate New York.

AIMEE NORWICH BRINGING FOLK-ELECTRONICA to SPOTTY DOG
(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Folk-electronica artist Aimee Norwich brings her unique mix of sounds to Spotty Dog Books & Ale on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 8pm. Norwich recently completed her fall tour with drummer Ian Cook, in support of her new record release, Forward to Nowhere. Norwich played her hybrid bass and electronics, with Cook on drums and electronics, and they toured through the Northeastern United States, in Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New York, and Connecticut. The duo continues to play local and regional shows.

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Experimental filmmaker Bill Morrison will be the subject of a mini-film festival from Thursday, January 16, 2014, through Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Time & Space Limited. The filmmaker will be in attendance on Saturday to screen all three films.

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Seth’s Sauerkraut Revue, a mini-festival of regional Americana and honky-tonk performers hosted by “Sauerkraut” Seth Travins, returns to Club Helsinki Hudson on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 9pm, featuring Two Gun Man; Chops, Sauerkraut and the Velvet Frog; Chris Neumann; and special surprise guests.
