(NORTH ADAMS, Mass.) – Connecticut-based psychedelic-funk trio The Stepkids bring its jazzy blend of Seventies soul and 1980s electro-dance music to Club B-10 at MASS MoCA on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 8pm. The group should equally appeal to fans of Steely Dan, Frank Zappa, Prince, and Medeski Martin and Wood.
Jeff Gitelman (guitar/vocals), Dan Edinberg (bass/keyboards/vocals), and Tim Walsh (drums/vocals) formed the Stepkids in 2009 after honing their chops as sidemen with the likes of Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, and 50 Cent. In 2011, the band released its self-titled debut album under the auspices of the indie label, Stones Throw Records. The group recently released its sophomore album, Troubadour.
A full bar, dinner and snacks from Lickety Split are available before and during the show. Tickets are $20 reserved, $12 advance, $16 day of, and $10 students. Members receive a 10% discount.
