The granddaughter of the legendary country singer-songwriter Hank Williams and daughter of country star Hank Williams Jr., the 32-year-old Holly Williams has established a reputation in her own right as a convincing singer and songwriter.
NATURE THEATER of OKLAHOMA REVISITS ‘ROMEO & JULIET’ at BARD
(ANNANDALE-on-HUDSON, N.Y.) – Nature Theater of Oklahoma’s unique take on Romeo & Juliet will be staged at the Richard B. (HUDSON, N.Y.) – A fundraising reception for the Edna St. Vincent Millay Society at Steepletop, featuring a new exhibition of rare photos and personal treasures of the poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, will take place on Millay’s birthday, Saturday, February 22, 2014, from 5:30 to 9:30 pm at McDaris Fine Art in Hudson. A limited edition photo print of Steepletop, by photographer Glynnis McDaris will be featured in a silent auction at the reception.

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Banjoist Noam Pikelny will lead an all-star bluegrass outfit at Club Helsinki Hudson on Sunday, February 23, 2014, at 8pm, performing as Noam Pikelny & Friends featuring Brian Sutton, Luke Bulla, Barry Bales & Jesse Cobb. With each member being a front man in his own right, the band will present an evening of original and classic bluegrass music.

A STROLL THROUGH ‘MODERN ARTISTS’ at CARRIE HADDAD GALLERY
(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Gallery owner Carrie Haddad has wild, whimsical and eclectic taste in artworks, and this is always reflected in the shows she hangs at her eponymous Carrie Haddad Gallery. The current exhibition, Modern Artists, featuring contemporary painting and photography and running through March 2, is no exception. I love Carrie’s shows, because she mixes and matches artists of seemingly wildly different temperaments and approaches. The only thing that unifies them is that she likes them, and that’s just fine with me.
