(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Folksingers Kath Bloom and Linda Draper perform at Spotty Dog Books & Ale on Saturday, May 31, at 8pm. Folk artists Sam Moss and Penn Sultan kick off the weekend of folk on Friday, May 30, 2014, at 8pm.

Kath Bloom grew up in a house full of classical music in Connecticut, but in the 1970s she emerged as a singer-songwriter. Her music was rediscovered by filmmaker Richard Linklater in the 1990s, and she has recorded several albums since then. Linda Draper is a rootsy singer-songwriter with an organic voice. She is currently based in Brooklyn.

Sam Moss is a Brattleboro, Vt.-based songwriter and string player. In fall 2013, he released his eighth solo album, “No Kingdom. “Moss has also released two albums with the old-time duo, The Howling Kettles, and compiled Imaginational Anthem Volume Five for Tompkins Square Records. In fall 2012 he was in residence at the MacDowell Colony in Peterborough, N.H. His work has won high praise from NPR, Dusted, Pop Matters, and Blurt Magazine, among others.
