(HUDSON, N.Y.) – A triple-bill of musical performers including Horse Lords, Lucrecia Dalt, and Palm on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at 8pm, followed by a screening and discussion of Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining” by game developer Kevin McLeod on Thursday, June 5, at 8pm, kick off the summer season this week at Basilica Hudson.

Playing two drum sets, modified guitars, and saxophone, Horse Lords has garnered praise for their hypnotic instrumental songs and their exacting live show. The Baltimore-based band’s music has been described as “psych-rock alternative jam experimental pop band of the future.”

Lucrecia Dalt first discovered the craft of music after a brief career as a civil engineer in Medelli?n, Colombia. Since that time, she has developed a sophisticated performance experience that falls squarely in the technical world of electronic producers, while giving priority to the lived experience of mind, body, presence, and the subtle perception of emotional vulnerability.

On Thursday evening, after a screening of “The Shining,” Kevin McLeod will present his analysis of the film with a thought-provoking presentation and discussion.

The Basilica Hudson is a reclaimed 19th century factory, converted into an art and performance space for the artistic and cultural community at large. The Basilica Hudson’s striking industrial architecture makes it a unique location for diverse events ranging from music and film festivals to art exhibitions and independent theater.
