(PITTSFIELD, Mass.) – The sounds of Benny Goodman – the “King of Swing” and most popular jazz bandleader of the 1930s – will be revisited in “Benny Rides Again,” a tribute to Goodman’s vibrant jazz quartet of the 1940s and ‘50s featuring clarinetist Paul Green and vocalist Corrine Manning, as part of the Mr. Finn’s Cabaret series at Barrington Stage on Sunday and Monday, June 8 and June 9, 2014, at 8pm.

Paul Green actually studied with Benny Goodman. Corrine Manning will take the Peggy Lee/Helen Ward/Anita O’Day role on lead vocals, as the group swings the tunes that are Benny Goodman’s legacy to the world of jazz.

Named for William Finn, the two-time Tony Award-winning composer/lyricist of Falsettos and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Artistic Producer of BSC’s Musical Theatre Lab, Mr. Finn’s Cabaret celebrates its third season with an eclectic mix of performers from May through October as part of Barrington Stage Company’s 20th Anniversary Season.
