(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Wilco offshoot band Autumn Defense brings its unique update of 1960s-inspired pop-rock to Club Helsinki Hudson on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 8pm. The long-running side project features Wilco members John Stirratt and Pat Sansone making original music in the style of such classic British invasion groups as the Zombies, the Kinks, and the Beatles.

For the last 15 years or so, multi-instrumentalists John Stirratt and Pat Sansone have “relaxed” in between Wilco tours and recording projects by kicking back and making music under the moniker of Autumn Defense, which luxuriates in pop vocals and harmonies recalling Lennon and McCartney; guitar licks that hint at George Harrison; leaps of melody that bring to mind the Zombies; and Anglophile story-songs that rank with the best of Ray Davies.

Autumn Defense recently released its fifth recording, aptly titled “Fifth.” Wilco, of course, is perhaps the most influential and significant force in American rock music for the last two decades.
