(GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.) – St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble will perform works by Bach, Mozart, and Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” at the Mahaiwe on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 7:30pm, in a presentation by Berkshire Bach.
The exact works to be performed are Divertimento in D Major, K. 136 by Mozart; Orchestral Suite No. 2 in B minor, BWV 1067 by Bach; and The Four Seasons, Op. 8 Nos. 1-4 by Vivaldi.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary this season, St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble consists of 21 virtuoso artists dedicated to the mastery of a diverse repertoire spanning Baroque to contemporary. The ensemble forms the artistic core of Orchestra of St. Luke’s (OSL), one of America’s foremost and most versatile orchestras. OSL was formed at Caramoor Music Festival in the summer of 1979, after evolving from St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble, which was established at The Church of St. Luke in the Fields in New York’s Greenwich Village in 1974.
