(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Chops and Sauerkraut and Two Gun Man headline a mini-festival of regional Americana and honky-tonk music at Club Helsinki Hudson on Saturday, April 2, at 9pm.

Chops and Sauerkraut are a hard-edged rockabilly, honky-tonk and garage band influenced by Carl Perkins, the Standells, ? and the Mysterians, Frankie Yankovic, Elvis Presley, Bob Wills, and the Cramps, featuring upright bassist Chops Laconte (Lustre Kings, Wanda Jackson) and “Sauerkraut” Seth Travins (the Wiyos) on vocals and guitar.

Chops Laconte is one of the best rockabilly bass players. He has gigged as the bassist with Brian Setzer and tours regularly with the Lustre Kings and the legendary Wanda Jackson. He was a founding member of the 1990’s New York band Slick Pelt.

“Sauerkraut” Seth Travins is a musician around town and around the world. Currently his main gig is as upright bassist with the Wiyos. He also plays guitar, writes, and sings.

The two will be joined by Jim Krewson on drums. Krewson, a singer-songwriter himself, is best known for his work in the bluegrass/country rock band, Jim & Jennie and the Pinetops.

Two Gun Man is one of the region’s top Americana quartets. Longtime friends and musical collaborators, all four members of Two Gun Man (Reid Waring and Josh Miesmer, guitar; Jonathan Talbott, upright bass and violin; Julian Seidenberg, drums) either hail from or are residents of New York’s Columbia County and currently live in and around Hudson.

Two Gun Man features original songwriting – sometimes mellow and heartbreaking, sometimes boisterous and joyful.
