TWYLA THARP to TALK ABOUT CREATIVITY at BASILICA HUDSON

Tharp recently celebrated her dance company’s 50th anniversary season, and the publication of her book, “The Creative Habit.” Admission is free and open to the public.

(ANNANDALE-on-HUDSON, N.Y.) — Humorist and quintessential New Yorker Fran Lebowitz will reflect on American life — from pet peeves to timely issues — in conversation with literary critic and Bard Professor of Humanities Daniel Mendelsohn, in the Sosnoff Theater in the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College on Friday, April 1, at 8pm.
HONKY-TONK AMERICANA FESTIVAL at HELSINKI HUDSON
(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Chops and Sauerkraut and Two Gun Man headline a mini-festival of regional Americana and honky-tonk music at Club Helsinki Hudson on Saturday, April 2, at 9pm. Chops and Sauerkraut are a hard-edged rockabilly, honky-tonk and garage band. They will be joined by drummer Jim Krewson. Two Gun Man is one of the region’s top Americana quartets.
VIOLINIST MADALYN PARNAS HEADLINES BERKSHIRE MUSIC SCHOOL 75TH ANNIVERSARY GALA CONCERT
(PITTSFIELD, Mass.) – Acclaimed violinist Madalyn Parnas is among a host of alumni and faculty who will take part in a gala concert at the Colonial Theatre to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Berkshire Music School on Sunday, April 3, at 4pm. A free day-long student Performathon will also take place on Saturday, April 9, from 9am to 6pm, in the Taft Recital Hall at Berkshire Music School. The gala concert at the Colonial featuring Parnas will be hosted by James Warwick, celebrated Broadway actor and stage director, and will include headline performances by BMS alumni Deborah Rentz-Moore, voice; Billy Keane, guitar and vocals; Kari Steinert, composer; and Ben Talmi, pianist/composer.
