(NEW YORK, N.Y.) – The multitalented visual and performing artist Phoebe Legere headlines an all-star list of Lower East Side performers and arts professionals from the Theater for the New City celebrating its 25th anniversary on Saturday, May 23, at 8pm online at Theater for the New City.
Other performers include Austin Pendelton, F. Murray Abraham, David Amram, William Electric Black, Penny Arcade, and Charles Busch. With Legere, the seven “art immortals” will discuss art and politics and deliberate on, “Where do we go from here?”
Phoebe Legere will be playing blues guitar and singing a new song, “Maple Syrup Blues,” about being in love with a French-Canadian fireman, plus reading a statement about her paintings, which are available exclusively at The Art of Phoebe Legere.
The Zoom event is part of a three-day virtual program called L.E.S the Fabulous LOWER EAST SIDE FESTIVAL of the ARTS, featuring 145 theater groups, artists, painters, sculptors, dancers, actors, puppet makers, poets, musical comedy stars, kid performers and Street performers, running Friday, May 22, through Sunday, May 24.
