(HUDSON, N.Y., and GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass.) — The Aston Magna Chamber Players will perform two September concerts of baroque music, live in-person, at Hudson Hall in Hudson, N.Y., on Saturday, September 25, at 7pm and at Saint James Place in Great Barrington, Mass., on Sunday, September 26, at 3pm.
Concertgoers must present proof of vaccine and ID upon arrival and wear masks during the performances.
The concerts offer a rich array of baroque fare by masters of the era, including J.S. Bach, Marais, Rameau and Leclair.
The music will be performed on period instruments by Edson Scheid and Daniel Stepner, baroque violins; Laura Jeppesen, viola da gamba; Catherine Liddell, theorbo; and Michael Sponseller, harpsichord.
The program includes Bach’s Sonata in E Minor, for violin and continuo; Marin Marais’ Pièces de viole, for gamba and continuo; Jacques Leclair’s Sonata in A Major, for violin and continuo; Jean-Philippe Rameau: Concert en Trio No. 1 in C Minor; Leclair’s Sonata for two violins, and Bach Trio Sonata in C Major.
