(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Soul legend Lee Fields & The Expressions will ring out the old and ring in the new with their old-school soul and R&B at Club Helsinki Hudson for a New Year’s Eve dance party on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at 9pm. Fields is nicknamed “Little JB” for his physical and vocal resemblance to James Brown, and his music also recalls vintage Marvin Gaye. Fields released his first single in 1969. Since that time, the North Carolina native has amassed a prolific catalog of albums and has toured and played with such legends as Kool and the Gang, Sammy Gordon and the Hip-Huggers, O.V Wright, Darrell Banks, and Little Royal.

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Bandleader, composer and drummer Bobby Previte brings his Voodoo Revue, featuring an all-star cast of Hudson Valley improvisational jazz talent – to the Half Moon on New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, December 31, at 10pm, in an event cosponsored by WGXC 90.7-FM and the Half Moon. DJ Marc Anthony Thompson, of WGXC’s “The Honeygun Power Hour,” will spin tunes for the crowd after the clock strikes midnight, ushering in the new year of 2015.

TOMMY STINSON HEADLINES ALL-STAR LINEUP for HOUSING BENEFIT at HELSINKI HUDSON
(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Tommy Stinson, a cofounder of legendary rock band The Replacements and a touring member of stadium-rockers Guns n’ Roses, will headline Home Bass 2: A Little Help for Our Friends, a benefit concert for Columbia County Habitat for Humanity at Club Helsinki Hudson on Saturday, January 3, at 8pm. Stinson, who is curating the evening of entertainment, will be joined by Rhett Miller, lead singer of the Old 97’s; rock singer-songwriter Elvis Perkins; Jesse Malin; singer Ruby Stinson; Dust Bowl Faeries; Kiki*D, and other surprise guests.

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Seth’s Sauerkraut Revue, a mini-festival of regional Americana and honky-tonk performers hosted by “Sauerkraut” Seth Travins, returns to Club Helsinki Hudson on Friday, December 26, at 9pm. Seth’s Sauerkraut Revue includes an all-star cast of Hudson Valley roots musicians, including Pete Adams, Tony Kieraldo, Chris Neumann, Lukas Schwartz, Sasha Pearl, Jay “The Velvet Frog” Gerald, Seamus Maynard and Sebastian Douzal. Chops and Sauerkraut, featuring Travins on guitar, Michael “Chops” LaConte on slap bass and Slink Moss on drums, are the house band for the evening.

Both artists mine early rock ‘n’ roll styles as well as their roots and tributaries, including country, blues and R&B, on their way toward making new indie-rock with the immediacy and passion of 1950s and early-‘60s music.
BRUCE KATZ BAND BRINGS SOUL-BLUES to HELSINKI HUDSON
(HUDSON, N.Y.) – The Bruce Katz Band, featuring the legendary keyboardist and three-time Blues Music Award nominee Bruce Katz, will bring its organ-drenched blues-rock to Club Helsinki Hudson on Saturday, December 27, at 9pm. Bruce Katz’s resume reads like a who’s who of blues and blues-rock. Playing piano and B3 organ, Katz has toured and recorded with the Greg Allman Band, Delbert McClinton, Maria Muldaur, Ronnie Earl & the Broadcasters, among numerous others.
