(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Psychic Green Trailer, a historic marker / installation by Alan Danielson, will open for one night only on Saturday August 1, from 6 to 8pm at the trailer next to Basilica Hudson. The event is free and open to the public. Tony Stone, co-founder of Basilica Hudson, preserved the former Hudson Handling trailer on Basilica’s property as a relic of Hudson’s industrial past. The trailer has evolved into a location for a site-specific artist-in-residency project, directly informing the work made during time spent inside the trailer.
(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Nashville-based JP Harris & the Tough Choices bring their classic country and honkytonk sounds to Club Helsinki Hudson on Friday, July 31, at 9pm. Rolling Stone named JP Harris one of fall 2014’s “Country Tours Not To Miss” as well as one of “21 Must-See Country Acts at SXSW 2015.”
(POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.) – Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer Duncan Sheik returns to Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College with an Inside Look Workshop of his new musical, “Noir,” from Friday, July 31, through Sunday, August 2. This lush and mysterious new musical, inspired by radio plays and classic film noir, is the story of a heartbroken man who never leaves his apartment, consoled only by the music on the radio. Through the thin walls he hears almost every word of the couple next door and before long his eavesdropping becomes an obsession. Soon he finds himself drawn into a web of lust, lies, deceit and danger.
