MIRO QUARTET to PLAY SCHUBERT and BEETHOVEN at TANNERY POND

(NEW LEBANON, N.Y.) –  The Miro Quartet will perform a program featuring works by Schubert and Beethoven in the Tannery Pond Concert Series at the Darrow School on Saturday, August 1, at 8pm. The dynamic quartet, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, will be playing Schubert’s Quartet in G major, No. 15 and Beethoven’s Quartet in C-sharp minor, No. 14, Op. 131:2.

TRAILER INSTALLATION GETS ONE NIGHT SHOWING at BASILICA HUDSON

(HUDSON, N.Y.) – Psychic Green Trailer, a historic marker / installation by Alan Danielson, will open for one night only on Saturday August 1, from 6 to 8pm at the trailer next to Basilica Hudson. The event is free and open to the public. Tony Stone, co-founder of Basilica Hudson, preserved the former Hudson Handling trailer on Basilica’s property as a relic of Hudson’s industrial past. The trailer has evolved into a location for a site-specific artist-in-residency project, directly informing the work made during time spent inside the trailer.

Through the thin walls he hears almost every word of the couple next door and before long his eavesdropping becomes an obsession. Soon he finds himself drawn into a web of lust, lies, deceit and danger.

JUDY COLLINS HEADLINES FALCON RIDGE FOLK FESTIVAL

(HILLSDALE, N.Y.) – Judy Collins, Garnet Rogers, Susan Werner, Nerissa and Katryna Nields, the Slambovian Circus of Dreams, June Rich, and the Duhks headline the 27th annual Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, taking place at Dodds Farm from Friday through Sunday, July 31 to August 2. The festival includes concerts and workshops, hours of dancing on the 7,000-sq.-ft. dance floor, a family stage, kids activities, an international food court, and an array of vendors. The dance tent starts with wake-up yoga and continues until 2am Friday and Saturday.
